SCRIPTURE:
“For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his. For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin - because anyone who has died has been set free from sin.”
Roman 6:5-7
OBSERVATION:
I love the simplicity of the facts – 1) Jesus died for us, and our sins died with Him, 2) Jesus was resurrected from death for our sin and therefore we are resurrected from the stronghold of our sin. The power and victory are therein, that we need to know, verbalize, and even shout and tout that sin has no hold on us and that we are free from the slavery of sin through Jesus and what He did. We are free!
APPLICATION:
On this Memorial Day where we recognize those that have gone before us, giving their lives that we might have freedom; Jesus went before us and gave His live for our eternal freedom. Wars have and will continue. Jesus won the battle once and for all on Calgary. On His resurrection, the victory was eternal. Thus, I can claim it, shout it, and tout it to give me victory over sin and strongholds.
PRAYER:
Dear Lord, thank you for these scriptures as I claim the power over sin and strongholds by Jesus’ sacrifice and will find victory in shouting it and touting it to armor me and defend me against the temptations and influence of the enemy.
