No Weapon Forged Against You Will Prevail

SCRIPTURE:

“See, it is I who created the blacksmith who fans the coals into flame and forges a weapon fit for its work. And it is I who have created the destroyer to wreak havoc; no weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and this is their vindication from me,” declares the Lord.”

Isaiah 54:16-17

OBSERVATION:

This is an interesting set of verses.  God is the creator of all – the blacksmith who creates the weapons, the destroyer to bring about havoc, as well as those on the receiving end of it all.  There is great comfort in this – As servants of The Lord, He will protect us.

APPLICATION:

No weapon formed against us shall prosper or prevail.  Neither the physical or the spiritual.  As servants and children of God, He goes before us, fights for us and protects us.  This can be hard to believe at times, as it can feel like we are all alone when we fight the battles of this life.  We need only for the Lord to open our eyes that we would see an army fighting on our behalf (2 Kings 6:17).

A Pastor once gave this difficult truth – following Jesus doesn’t get easier, it actually gets harder.  That’s not much of a selling point, but it’s true.  What’s also true is that it is so very worth it to follow Him.  The problems of this life won’t go away, but there is one who will protect us through it all. It may not happen as we desire, like being instantly removed from a situation, but we can feel confident that He will indeed protect us (John 17:15).  We just need to trust in Him.

The battles won’t stop coming.  The challenges won’t stop coming.  The difficulties won’t stop coming, but as servants of The Lord, we can be confident of this – No weapon forged against us shall prevail.

PRAYER:

Father Almighty.  Forgive me Lord for times when I have forgotten this.  Thank You Lord that You have gone before me and fight for me.  May I trust in You always, this I pray, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
