SCRIPTURE:
“Surely the righteous will praise your name, and the upright will live in your presence.”
Psalm 140:13
OBSERVATION:
This verse isn’t about a moment of praise — it’s about a way of life.
The righteous don’t praise God only when things go well.
Praise is their natural response because they live in His presence.
Notice the order:
- Praise flows from relationship
- Presence comes from upright living
God’s presence isn’t earned through perfection,
but it is enjoyed through obedience and sincerity of heart.
APPLICATION:
We all have bad days. I have found though, that one of the best things I can do on a bad day is praise God. I put on my favorite playlist of worship music, crank it, and praise Jesus. When I do this, I find myself surrendering and giving the situation to the Lord and into His mighty hands.
This challenges me to ask:
- Am I visiting God’s presence, or living there?
- Is my praise reactive, or rooted?
When I choose praise,
I position myself to dwell with Him.
Today, I want my life to be an act of praise,
not just my words.
PRAYER:
Lord, I want to live in Your presence.
Align my heart, my choices, and my desires with You.
Let praise rise naturally from a life that walks uprightly before You.
Thank You for welcoming me to dwell with You.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
