Let God Arise

by Mary Waialeale on April 19, 2026

SCRIPTURE:

“Rise up, Lord, confront them, bring them down; with Your sword rescue me from the wicked.”

Psalm 17:13

OBSERVATION:

This is not a quiet prayer. This is a summons.

David is calling on the God who fights, the Lord of Hosts. David understands that spiritual battles are not won by endurance alone, but by divine intervention.

When God rises:

  • The enemy is confronted
  • The enemy is exposed
  • The enemy is brought down

God does not negotiate with darkness. He overcomes it.

APPLICATION:

We all have encountered times where we have a relationship snafus and we wish we could wave a genie lamp and have them disappear. But God doesn’t work that way. There moments when the most spiritual thing you can do is stop striving and call God into the fight.

Don’t fight people — fight what’s behind them.
Don’t swing your own sword — Trust the Lord’s.

When God rises for me, the battle shifts.

Today, I choose to:

  • Stand still in faith
  • Speak Scripture, not fear
  • Let God confront what I cannot

PRAYER:

Lord, rise up now.
Confront every force that comes against Your purpose in my life.
Bring down what seeks to steal, kill, or destroy.
I step back and place this battle in Your hands.
You are my defender, my deliverer, and my victory.
In the mighty name of Jesus, amen.
