NHO Hiking Ministry - Lulumahu Falls outing, Saturday, May 31st from 9:00AM.
Location: Stream trail in Nuuanu Valley near the Nuuanu Reservoir
Length: 2 miles roundtrip
Type: Valley
Terrain: Some muddy sections; some scrambling over rocks; stream crossings
Skill Level: Novice to Intermediate (adequate for "hardy" children); pet friendly
Bring: Snacks to enjoy at the falls, water to drink, light jacket (in case of rain), sturdy shoes that can get wet.
Depending on the conditions, we might first visit the Kaniakapupu Ruins of King Kamehameha III's summer home, negotiate a dense bamboo forest then walk past the Nuuanu Reservoir and finally, enter a mixed forest of native and alien trees on a stream trail that ends at the lovely 50-foot cascading Lulumahu Falls.
