SCRIPTURE:
20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.
Ephesians 3:20-21
OBSERVATION:
What do you think God can do? Really. What do you think He is actually capable of? Because whatever youʻre thinking, I guarantee you that God can do even better than that…
2000 years ago as he closed his prayer for the Ephesians, Paul wrote, “now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen” (Ephesians 3:20-21). And today, my prayer is that you would truly grasp what Paul is saying. For if you do, it will radically change your life.
What is Paul saying? Iʻm glad you asked…
“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine…” (Eph. 3:20a)
Think about all of the greatest things youʻve ever experienced in life. Think about the best things you could ever imagine that are so impossible that youʻve never experienced before. Now combine all of those things and think about the sum total of goodness of all these things all at once. That's a lot of good, isnʻt it? But guess what…God is able to do even better than that. God is not just good beyond your wildest dreams; He does good beyond your wildest dreams. God is capable of doing so much more than your mind is capable of fathoming.
“...according to his power that is at work within us…” (Eph. 3:20b)
God is able to do “immeasurably more” in our lives right now. We donʻt have to wait till we get to heaven. We donʻt have to wait for Christʻs return. God is able to do immeasurably more right now. And whatʻs the craziest part? That He does it through people like us. Despite our imperfections and our limited capabilities, God does immeasurably more through us as children of God. And how does He do this? Through His Spirit. As He fills us with His Holy Spirit, He fills us with the power and anointing necessary for Him to do immeasurably more through us.
“...to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus…” (Eph. 3:21a)
The purpose of all of this is not for our glory; itʻs for His glory. After all, that is our purpose––to bring God glory. And when we, the Church––the people of God––understands and walks in our purpose, we see God do immeasurably more and God is glorified.
“...throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.” (Eph. 3:21b)
Godʻs purpose for us, and for you, is so much greater than just yourself. Godʻs purpose for your life is to use you in such a way that will impact generations upon generations upon generations to come. Your life is so much greater than you think, and when you allow God to use you, the impact you make is not just earthly; it is eternal.
APPLICATION:
So what does all of this mean for you today?
“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine…” (Eph. 3:20a)
You serve, love, and are loved by a BIG God! He is bigger than your problems. He is bigger than your failures. He is bigger than your life and far bigger than what your human mind can fathom. God sees more than you see, knows more than you know, and loves you more than you could ever love yourself. Trust in Him, follow Him, and obey Him with confidence knowing that His goodness and His greatness are bigger than you.

God wants to use you to make a huge and powerful difference in this world. He has chosen you as the vessel through which He desires to work and the life through which He desires to do great things. And whatʻs more? You donʻt even have to worry about making it happen––for itʻs His power, not yours, that will make it happen. All you need to do is trust and obey. And when you do, you will see His power work in and through you.

You have the power to bring God glory. Yes, you might see your imperfections and question your worthiness, but the reality is that God receives glory through your life when you live for Him. Tomorrow is uncertain for all of us, so live for Him today. In fact, if today were the last day you had to live, live in such a way that you would have no regrets. In all things, give Him glory and live your life in such a way that others, both Christian and non-Christian alike, can see the glory of God reflected through you.

You are a difference maker. Godʻs will for your life is to make a generational and eternal difference through you. You are here on this earth right now because God still has purpose for your life. He still desires to use you to impact those around you for generations to come. Walk in your identity as a world changer, breaker of generational curses, and eternity expander as you surrender your life to Christ and allow Him to use you for His glory whenever He asks, whatever He asks, and however He asks.
God can do immeasurably more, beyond your wildest dreams. Take God out of the box, realize that this is the greatness of your God, and more importantly, live today, and the rest of your life, knowing that this is the God who has your back. Dream His big dreams, take on His big assignments, and live out the big life that God has dreamt for you. And when you do, realize that when you think “it canʻt get any better than this,” with God, it can.
PRAYER:
As Paul prayed for the Ephesians, today, I pray over you:
“16 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever!” (Ephesians 3:16-21)
