Walking with No Fear

by John Tilton on August 09, 2021

Scripture

“Jesus answered, 'Are there not twelve hours of daylight? Anyone who walks in the daytime will not stumble, for they see by this world's light. It is when a person walks at night that they stumble, for they have no light.” (John 11:9-10)

Observation

These scriptures refer to the idea that they should walk with and in the will of God, and not be concerned about the worldly concerns.  Thus, it was not a concern or fear of what might await them, but instead trust in Jesus, where He was directing them, and what would transpire.

Application

These scriptures are so simple but so clear and powerful.  I often try to keep up with all the things upon me, which at times can be distracting from my time with the Lord.  This is a great reminder that walking and communing with the Lord is priority.  Furthermore, that I should not be scared or in fear of what lies ahead, but instead always focus on my trust in the Lord, for His plans for me is not calamity, but a future and a hope.

Prayer

Dear Lord, thank you for clearly putting my priorities in order.  May I not let my responsibilities dictate and cause me to be distracted from my walking with you.
