Walk My Talk

SCRIPTURE:

“Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you - unless, of course, you fail the test?  And I trust that you will discover that we have not failed the test.  Now we pray to God that you will not do anything wrong - not so that people will see that we have stood the test but so that you will do what is right even though we may seem to have failed.”
2 Corinthians 13:5-7

OBSERVATION:

It truly is so easy to say the right things with the right intent, yet not walk out what I profess.  It is so easy to pray and intend not to sin, yet fall to sin.  It is so easy to boast of the good things I intend to do, yet not do them.  Thus, do I pass the test?  Like the Corinthians, I have to be honest and say that I do fail and fall at times.  Yet, I know that because of Christ’s grace, I can pick myself up, and from my heart learn from my mistakes and lessons to make a gain on walking my talk and being intentional in moving in the faith that Paul speaks of.  Though I may fail at times, it is Godʻs grace through Jesus that I will stand the test, because of receiving His love through repentance, and striving to turn from those things that are not of His will that avail.  What I am taking from these scriptures is that doing right is not only the intent of doing right, knowing that we all are sinners and have a propensity to sin; but that I will own my sin, repent, claim His grace, and learn from my sin.

APPLICATION:

PRAYER:

Lord, please guide me to “walk my talk” and stand on who you call me to be in you.  That by studying your word and a intentional prayer life, that my faith will guide me to do the right things and not fall to sin.  But when I do, that I may be blessed by your grace in my repentance; and that I may learn and grow to refrain from my sinful ways.
