The Resurrection Of Jesus

by Richard Waialeale on November 04, 2021

Scripture

“Don’t be alarmed,” he said. “You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him. But go, tell his disciples and Peter, ‘He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.’” (Mark 16:6)

Observation

The Resurrection proves the validity of Jesus’ sacrifice because, without it, we would never know if His work on our behalf was accepted. Then it would be a toss-up between believing Jesus, Buddha, Mohammad, or any other self-proclaimed prophet or guru. The Resurrection places Jesus in a different category than any other so-called holy man.

The Resurrection not only proves the validity of His sacrifice, but it provides the ability for us to live in Christ. The Christian life is not a matter of trying to be a “good” Christian or even of imitating Jesus. It is not imitation, but rather impartation. What I mean is, Jesus is alive. He rose again. And He sends His Spirit to come and dwell in me, to tell me what I should do and then to give me the power to be able to do it. That’s why the Resurrection is essential.

Application

So now when I say, “He is risen.”  Understanding this part of the Resurrection gives me confidence and assurance of what I believe in.  Jesus is alive.  And that is why I often will pray for His Spirit to infill me and impart in me that I may have His power and do His good works.

Prayer

Father thank you for this past weekend's service and for empowering me to fulfill Your message to Your people.  I am humbled by the corrections from Saturday to Sunday services.  Thank you, Lord, for helping me fulfill Your services for Your people.  Amen.
