I will dwell among the sons of Israel.
1 Kings 6:13
How does it feel to fall in love? When I first met my wife, one of the early indications that she was “the one” was that we could spend hours together in each other’s presence without talking. We were content with or without words, and we simply enjoyed “just being together.” One day, I realized I didn’t want to spend the rest of my life without her.
God made you to walk with Him into eternity. Imagine a love that knows your every need, desire, thought, inclination, and good and bad sides, and this love wants to be with you more than anything. Imagine there is nothing you can do to dissuade or diminish this love for you. Imagine that this love doesn’t want to only be with you but live in you. This is how God feels about you; it’s why He has made you His dwelling place to abide with you forever. Although He lives in you, He won’t intrude, He won’t ever crowd you or overstep His bounds; He wants to be invited into deeper relationship but waits on you. He’s waiting for you to discover the next level of intimacy with Him. The Apostle Paul tells us that nothing can separate us from the love of God. Won’t you draw near to Him now so He may reach out to you?
REFLECT TO CONNECT
- How is God drawing you in right now?
- What is the evidence that God is waiting on you?
- Do you wait for a sign to draw near to God or initiate contact every day?
God desires reciprocation in the relationship so He can draw you closer.
