SCRIPTURE:
“However, as it is written: “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived” — the things God has prepared for those who love him—"
1 Corinthians 2:9
OBSERVATION:
Paul is speaking to the things of the future. Man cannot fathom what God has in store for those of us who love and follow Him. The things that we will come to experience in this world and when we go home to Heaven.
APPLICATION:
While we still live in this world, it’s easy to take note of the things we see around us. Everywhere we turn there’s doom and gloom. We truly are in the last days, but I am still believing for the best that The Lord has for us in this life. We will surely live in paradise with Him when we go to our Heavenly home, but there are still things He has for us on this earth.
There was a point in time when all I could see was the worst. My mind gravitated to all that could go wrong. When I got saved, slowly but surely, my thinking would begin to shift in the other direction, but if I’m being honest my view of the world and what God had in store for me was limited. I’d put a period where God was trying to put a comma.
The older I get, the more I realize that God has so much more in store for all of us. We can’t even begin to imagine all the He has for us. Our eyes have not seen, our ears have not heard and our minds cannot realistically conceive what He wants to do in and through us.
The one thing I must continue to do is yield to His plans and directions. I must continue to seek The Lord out above all else, and stop thinking with my limited mindset and take on His mind.
“for, “Who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ.” – 1 Corinthians 2:16
PRAYER:
Father Almighty. Forgive me Lord for times when I have tried to stop the work You were doing in my life simply because I was thinking with my human mind. Thank You Lord for the mighty works You have done, are doing and will continue to do in my life. May I take on Your mindset and not my own, this I pray, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
