Surrender Strengths

SCRIPTURE:

“His pleasure is not in the strength of the horse, nor his delight in the legs of the warrior; the Lord delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love.”

Psalm 147:10–11

OBSERVATION:

I’m reminded again that it’s not power, but surrender that leads to pleasing God.

That is so counter-culture. We live in a world where approval often comes from strength, ability, success, influence, and effectiveness. We celebrate what we can accomplish and measure ourselves by what we can produce. And while those things can be valuable, none of them surpasses a heart that is surrendered to God.

God is not impressed by how strong I can be on my own. He delights when I fear Him and put my hope in His unfailing love.

APPLICATION:

When I surrender to God:

  1. I put my hope and trust in His power, not my own. I don’t have to carry everything or prove that I am strong enough. His strength is greater than anything I can produce.
  2. I become moldable and reliant on His will. Surrender means releasing my need to control the outcome and allowing God to shape me, redirect me, and use me according to His purposes.
  3. I delight in my Father. Ultimately, my goal is not the approval of people but the pleasure of my Father, to serve an Audience of One. What matters most is not how impressive I appear, but whether my heart is surrendered to Him.

Maybe true strength isn’t found in proving how much I can do, but in trusting God enough to surrender what I cannot.

PRAYER:

Jesus, help me remember that You are not looking for my strength as much as You are looking for my surrender. Teach me to trust Your power instead of relying on my own. Keep my heart moldable, obedient, and dependent on You. May I live for an Audience of One and find my greatest joy and desire in pleasing You. Amen
