Strength Comes When We Move

by Mary Waialeale on December 14, 2025

SCRIPTURE:

“Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees. ‘Make level paths for your feet,’ so that the lame may not be disabled, but rather healed.”

Hebrews 12:12–13

OBSERVATION:

This verse reminds us that God invites us to participate in our own healing.
He brings the strength, but we take the steps.
If we don’t strengthen what’s weak, things slowly decline.
But when we choose to move in the right direction — even just a little — we give God room to work healing in us.

APPLICATION:

For many years, I used to swim at Ala Moana Beach at 5:30 AM — rain or shine. It kept me strong. But when grandma duty came, that season shifted, and I stopped swimming. Slowly, my strength slipped without me even noticing. (And my weight too LOL!)

The day before yesterday, I went back to the beach. At first it was hard, but then the rhythm returned — and I felt strong again.

But then…yesterday morning? My arms were soooo sore!

That soreness reminded me of this scripture: weakness stays weak unless we engage it. But the moment we choose to strengthen what’s grown feeble, God meets us there.

Spiritually, physically, emotionally — I have a part to play.
God supplies the strength, but He invites me to move.

And today? I swam again — and my arms weren’t sore at all. Strength really does come when we move.

PRAYER:

Lord, thank You that You don’t leave me in my weak places.
Show me where I’ve grown weary and where You’re calling me to take steps again.
Strengthen me as I choose to move with You.
Help me walk the level path so Your healing can flow freely in my life.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
