Step Out In Boldness

SCRIPTURE:

OBSERVATION:

Paul got done in two years what many would take a lifetime to achieve. Not only was Paul preaching to any and all who would listen, but he spent time writing letters that we find in the Bible to this day. Letters like the ones he wrote to the Philippians. He didn’t waste any time.

With all boldness and without hindrance Paul goes full steam ahead. It mattered little the circumstances he found himself in. He was going to continue the work he was called to do – To proclaim the kingdom of God and teach about Jesus. Even while he was under house arrest.

APPLICATION:

When God calls us, He will make a way. It’s often said that He doesn’t call the equipped, He equips the called. Regardless of the circumstances and challenges we may face, we can take comfort in knowing that all that’s required of us is to step out in obedience.

I’m reminded of a story I once heard of a criminal turned convert for Christ. While he had begun serving the Lord, there were still some old charges that he had to answer for. Voluntarily turning himself in, he said that his calling to share the love of Christ and the message of the gospel wasn’t going to change. Instead he would now continue his mission within the prison walls. He wasn’t going to stop. To this day, even as a prisoner, he continues to minister to any and all who will listen, just like Paul did. Someone once said – “When your why is big enough, the how becomes easy.”

Regardless of what I am faced with, I must continue to share more about Jesus.

PRAYER:

Father Almighty. Forgive me Lord for times when I have allowed circumstances and challenges to dictate my obedience. Thank You Lord for continuing to make a way for all of us. May I step out in faith and obedience to that which You have called me, this I pray, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
