Slip Slidin’ Away

SCRIPTURE:

Praise our God, O peoples, let the sound of his praise be heard; he has preserved our lives and kept our feet from slipping.”
Psalm 65:8-9

OBSERVATION:

This psalm is a blessed reminder to be mindful and sure footed in the Lord, His word, and His faithfulness; to help us from slipping and sliding on the pathways of life.

APPLICATION:

I am thankful to the Lord for continuing to guide me to seek Him in all things, and in faith; less I let the volume of responsibilities, influences, unintended conflict, unexpected road bumps, and my flesh, cause me to go slipping off the path with Jesus at times.  Whether it be the moss of messes, cracks from conflict, obstacles of offense on the pathway; I know that taking the hand of the Holy Spirit, in the power and name of Jesus that will keep me upright and walking on His path.

Paul Simon had a hit song “Slip Slidin’ Away.” “Slip slidin’ away,
Slip slidin’ away, You know the nearer your destination, The more you’re slip slidin’ away.

I know that the enemy is always trying to “steal, kill & destroy,” as we walk with Jesus and before big events like Easter.  But I know without doubt, that what truly has been helping me stay steady in faith and perspective is my daily time in the Word and reading other’s devotions in what they are living through.  Each devo is a lesson through the Word of God that gives me perseverance, grace, understanding, and hope; thus, many daily lessons from God to dwell on and have in my heart.

PRAYER:

Dear Lord, thank you for keeping me on your path with sure footing, as I always seek you, walk with you, and take the hand of the Holy Spirit leading and guiding me, all in the power and name of you Jesus.  Please continue to guide me over, around, and through the moss, cracks, and obstacles that arise on the pathway of life.
