Servants and Stewards

by Pua Palakiko on March 19, 2022

Scripture

This is how one should regard us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God.” (1 Corinthians 4:1)

Observation

Paul drips in humility! He is the expert on teaching about taking off the old self and putting on the new self. The Spiritual Warrior who equips us to put on the amor of God! The Spiritual physiologist who encourages us to put on the mind of Christ. Paul is a game changer who we can see what one touch of Jesus can transform one persons heart from a rebel to a disciple.  Prisoner for the lord, who writes the most of the New Testament yet Paul teaches us the humility of a leader to address him as a servant and his responsibility is to steward the things of God.

Application

I desires to honor and steward position and title the lord opens for but never be haste to running away from humility as a servant. Having an official title or Leadership position can be seen as a promotion or leveling up to something greater (which is true). Yet Jesus teaches us we should never be to proud to wash the feet of another. Being a servant can be tainted, lower standard, or the person who does the dirty work. Pastor Wayne had taught me, you will always get promoted to being a servant. Why? So that we keep your heart in check and never make it about you.

I want to continue to carry on the same heart as Paul did to walk in humility no matter how much God gives me, how much my name will be mention but to know that I will always be promoted as servant. I have a responsibility as a servant to steward the things of God and never to neglect or misuse it.

  1. Never despise humble beginnings
  2. Don’t be to proud to serve
  3. Steward what God has given you responsibility over

Prayer

Lord, I Pray as Paul teaches us this morning to examine my own heart through your spirit that I will never get ahead of myself but to know that even  as a master graduate, Pastor or a staff member of a church, I will always be a servant, to always serve people and to always steward the things of God. Amen
