Remember Well

by Mary Waialeale on March 08, 2026

SCRIPTURE:

“But do not be afraid of them; remember well what the Lord your God did to Pharaoh and to all Egypt.”

Deuteronomy 7:18

OBSERVATION:

God doesn’t just tell His people to remember—He tells them to remember well.

Israel was facing new enemies, and fear was real. God’s response wasn’t to minimize the threat but to redirect their focus. He reminded them of Pharaoh and Egypt—of impossible odds, undeniable power, and total deliverance.

God knows that fear distorts memory. When pressure rises, we forget how faithful He has been. That’s why remembering well is intentional, specific, and grounded in truth. What we remember shapes how we face what’s ahead.

APPLICATION:

I keep a miracle journal where I write down what God has done for me. When I feel discouraged or low, I pull out that journal and read a few pages—until my spiritual tank of faith is full again.

In it, I’ve written moments I never want to forget: the time the Lord blessed us financially through a stranger, and the time Richard didn’t have to have surgery because God healed him. Writing these moments down helps me remember well, because our memories can be fragile—especially when fear or discouragement sets in.

Remembering well through journaling keeps God’s faithfulness louder than my feelings. When I look back at what He has already done, fear loses its grip and faith rises again.

PRAYER:

Lord, help me remember well.
When fear tries to cloud my mind or shrink my faith, remind me of Your power and faithfulness.
Teach me to hold onto the evidence of Your work in my life so I can face today with confidence and trust. Amen.
