Partnering with God

Scripture

“You see that a person is considered righteous by what they do and not by faith alone.” (James 2:24)

Observation

As noted in this chapter, Abraham, Rahab and many other mentors in the Bible have walked in faith.  We are called to have faith as our God is faithful and can do anything.  Yet, God also gives us the opportunity to partner with him by doing what we can do, or what He calls us to do.

Application

As I’ve read the Word over time, I’ve read how important faith is to the believer, knowing that if one has faith as a mustard seed, one can move mountains.  Knowing that the word is truth; how do the scriptures of faith work together with action; as opposed to standing taking no action and hoping that everything will happen by faith and no action?  It would venture that one can have faith that can move mountains indeed. However, as we incorporate our action and works together with faith, God often recognizes our intentions and will be faithful to manifest His best for us.  This resonates with me in that it reaffirms that God calls me to do what I can do, and then to have faith that He will do what I can’t do.  My part is to be obedient to His call and what He places before me and enables me to do; then presenting it all to Him for His blessings and power.

If I am sick, I know that the Lord has the power to heal me miraculously.  But at times, will he prompt me to see a doctor and take medicine; all the while moving in me with healing?

Prayer

Dear Lord, I thank you for your faithfulness, grace, love and power, as I thankfully partner with you in doing your will through faith and works.
