SCRIPTURE:
Then Agrippa said to Paul, “You have permission to speak for yourself.”
Acts 26:1
OBSERVATION:
Words have weight to them. In the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God. God spoke and there was light. There is power in the words that we speak. Paul displayed this while speaking before King Agrippa. King Agrippa was well versed with the words of the prophets. Words can build a family up or tear it down.
Words can heal a broken heart. Words can also start a war or bring peace. King Agrippa gave Paul permission to speak, however Paul had a great obligation to speak and that was from God Himself. God is the logos that has begotten us and gifted us with logos. We must use it wisely.
APPLICATION:
God has given me a great and powerful tool. It can be used as a sword to kill or a scalpel to heal. This is a part of being made in the image of God. We can use our words to create the future that God desires. Life and death is in the tongue.
Paul in the darkest of situations still chose to speak life. He preached the gospel that he was in prison for. The hate the Pharisees had for the gospel created a platform for the gospel to be spoken and Paul spoke life. I stop making excuses. I will preach the gospel with words and actions everywhere I go. I use my dash (life) for it.
I will speak because King Jesus has given me a mission to see the world discipled. In Starbucks, at Target, on stage or before a judge and jury I will proclaim the gospel.
PRAYER:
Dear Lord God
Thank you for giving me the gift of logos. Would help me use it well for your glory and the good of your people. Amen!
