LIFE INTERRUPTED

“While so engaged as I was journeying to Damascus with the authority and commission of the chief priests, at midday, O King, I saw on the way a light from heaven, brighter than the sun, shining all around me and those who were journeying with me. And when we had all fallen to the ground, I heard a voice saying to me in the Hebrew dialect, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads.’ And I said, ‘Who are You, Lord?’ And the Lord said, ‘I am Jesus whom you are persecuting. Acts 26:12-15

Have you ever been intercepted by something or someone that caused a life changing experience for you?  For Paul, meeting Jesus would be a turning point in his life that would forever change his trajectory including his career path and life mission.  Paul was intercepted to become a chosen vessel.  Jesus says of you, ‘You did not choose me but I chose you’.  What have you been chosen for?  If you were writing your life’s story, what would be the defining moments that God used to shift your future?

COURSE CHANGING INDICATORS

  • A door of opportunity opens, a new life choice emerges, and you take it.
  • A choice made to go into a specific vocation or take on an assignment.
  • A pain of the past you let God reframe into purpose for the future.
  • A mentor coming into your life that would reshape your thinking.
  • A crisis event that leads to a new launching pad for your life.
  • A passion that drives you to serve cause related work.

God will often interrupt life with a sudden change.  You may even get knocked down to the ground like the Apostle Paul did.  If God is bringing interruption to your life, He is tapping you on the shoulder to let you know ‘this life event is a divine intersection for you’.  God desires to transform you like he did Paul into a vessel for carrying precious cargo, His message and purposes right where you are at.

REFLECT TO CONNECT:

  1. In what ways do you make room for God to speak into your life?
  2. Is there someone you know who diligently follows the leading of the Lord?
  3. If you had a magic wand and could change anything about your future, what would it be?

Principle:  When God interrupts your plans that means He has something better for you.
