SCRIPTURE:
“’King Agrippa, do you believe the prophets? I know you do.’ Then Agrippa said to Paul, ‘Do you think that in such a short time you can persuade me to be a Christian?’ Paul replied, ‘Short time or long - I pray to God that not only you but all who are listening to me today may become what I am, except for these chains.’”
Acts 26:27-29
OBSERVATION:
One must love Paul’s insistence and confidence in his testimony and witness to all the officials he was brought before and questioned by including King Agrippa. To imagine that he would be so persistent even though he was labeled as insane and confined for his beliefs; but instead not to fear man, rank, or power, and instead to preach his faith and even challenge King Agrippa with respect of course.
APPLICATION:
There will be times in life if not on occasion already, where we will have the opportunity to share the good news of Jesus Christ, to give testimony, and witness to others. Will we be reticent to speak and share due to people’s position, titles, and/or celebrity? Do we tend to only be bold for Christ amongst fellow believers, or are we willing to let our testimony fly with insistence and confidence? Are we only “on fire” in church or with other believers and go “undercover” out in public. I know that I want to and need to be bold, and not to be timid about my faith even if I sense that I am a worldly environment or place.
PRAYER:
Dear Lord, you know me and know how I can be in public at times in certain places and situations, being reticent to be bold in my faith. Thank you for “checking my spirit,” and prompting me to be bold, insistent, and confident to follow in your calling and assignment in the Great Commission to take the gospel of Jesus Christ forth.
