SCRIPTURE:
“Suddenly, a man with leprosy approached him and knelt before him. “Lord,” the man said, “if you are willing, you can heal me and make me clean.” Jesus reached out and touched him. “I am willing,” he said. “Be healed!” And instantly the leprosy disappeared.” Matthew 8:2-3
OBSERVATION:
This is a most unusual approach to Jesus by this man who was infirm with leprosy.
Most others who come to Jesus for healing and help approach Him in the only way they think; just come and ask Him, or even, ask with a pinch of doubt, just as the parents of the demon possessed boy who said, "If you can, please have compassion on us and help us."
See the difference?
One says, "I think You can do it."
But the other says "if You are willing and it be Your decision, I KNOW YOU CAN!". What great faith!
APPLICATION:
In all that I do, when I'm faced with the moments that I must trust Jesus, my approach should be like this leper, and with full conviction cry out, "If it be Your will, I KNOW YOU WILL SHOW YOUR POWER! Thy will be done!"
If my request is not fulfilled, my response shouldn’t be one of “what happened?”, or “Are You really there?!” It should be, “Show me Your way and Your will for me. I know You know what is best for me.”
PRAYER:
Lord Jesus, You are the boss, You are in control, Your will be done.
May I trust You completely in all my travels and ventures, my going out and about and my times spent at Your feet.
