Hold on to Eternal Things

by Pua Palakiko on December 27, 2025

SCRIPTURE:

“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”

Revelation 3:11

OBSERVATION:

Jesus speaks to the faithful church in Philadelphia, encouraging them to remain steadfast. Their perseverance, even with little strength, has not gone unnoticed by Him. The reminder is that His return is soon, and the crown of victory is promised to those who endure to the end.

APPLICATION:

Life can throw distractions, disappointments, or even opposition that makes me want to loosen my grip on faith.

But Jesus tells me to hold on means clinging to His promises, staying faithful in the small things, and not letting discouragement or temptation rob me of what He’s given. There are things that we want to hold to that God does desire us to let go, like recognition, control, unforgiveness and materialism. The crown isn’t about earthly success it’s about remaining faithful until the end, so that when He comes, He finds me steadfast.

PRAYER:

Lord, thank You that You see my faith, even when it feels small. Give me strength to hold on tightly to You and not let go, no matter the circumstances. Keep me from being distracted or discouraged, and help me fix my eyes on the eternal crown You promise. Amen
