Today's Reading:
Romans 1,2,3,4
Scripture
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, "The righteous shall live by faith." (Romans 1:16-18)
Observation
It is from my/our faith that the Lord’s faithfulness will be revealed, manifested, and come to fruition. But where does our faith come from? It comes from the gospel, whereas we take to heart the gospel, and stand on it, the power of God will take place. Whatever situation we find ourselves in, applying God’s word to our situation followed by prayer and supplication - God’s will be done.
Application
In this crazy year of 2020, despite ALL that has transpired in this catastrophic year, I have personally seen God’s faithfulness come to fruition. I believe and know that it took my faith in the Lord and His faithfulness through what His word says to see my earnest prayer request answered.
I recall one morning stressing over the fact that our tithes and offerings didn’t cover our expenses. I felt so compelled to give the situation to the Lord, acknowledging what a faithful God He is. A few hours later I received a call to meet a member at church. His tithe was a large check amount that more than surpassed our shortage at the time. I knew it was God answering my prayer that morning in His faithfulness.
Prayer
Dear Lord, thank you for reminding me of your faithfulness and provision that is an extension of our relationship and faith in you. May I not take matters into my own hands but start with who you are, your power, and your faithfulness.
