God Knows All

by John Tilton on May 26, 2025

SCRIPTURE:

“But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it, you shall surely die.”
Genesis 1:17

OBSERVATION:

Did God know that Adam would eat the apple? God indeed knew that Adam would eat of the tree of knowledge and that when he did, Adam’s destiny would be death as opposed to life eternal.  Scholars note the scriptures that attest that God is “all powerful, all knowing, and all present.”  Thus, God knows all that will happen.  So, what do we do in response, if God knows what we will do?

APPLICATION:

Well, although God knows our future and everything that we will do even though He gives us the ability to choose, He knows what our choices will be.  However, even if he knows what our choices will be in terms of our actions, I believe that the choice to repent and ask for His forgiveness is what we hope will always be our choice, and therefore affirming His Word and that He knew that we would repent and be forgiven.  Then, we have a part in affirming our future and eternal life with Him.

PRAYER:

Dear Lord, thank you for giving your Son Jesus Christ to die on the cross for my sin, and that although my nature is sinful, you give me a way to have eternal life with you.  May my choices be righteousness in what you knew I would and will choose.
