SCRIPTURE:
“Then the end will come, when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power. For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. The last enemy to be destroyed is death. For he ‘has put everything under his feet.’ Now when it says that ‘everything’ has been put under him, it is clear that this does not include God himself, who put everything under Christ. When he has done this, then the Son himself will be made subject to him who put everything under him, so that God may be all in all.”
1 Corinthians 15:24-28
OBSERVATION:
Why is it so important that we come to know Jesus Christ as our Savior? The Word is so clear, “the end will come.” The end is when Jesus completes His work of overcoming and destroying dominion, authority, and power. This refers to Jesus overcoming adverse spiritual power (i.e. Satan, evil forces), earthly rulers, anything in opposition to God, and death itself. Jesus then hands the kingdom over to the Father. When the end comes, we don’t want to be on the wrong team, but instead, on Team Jesus. Therefore, it’s so clear to “get with the plan.” The plan is to know Jesus Christ as our Savior, live according to His Will and plan in obedience, serve Him, and await His return or our rapture.
APPLICATION:
This is why salvation is so important in these current times; due to the many Biblical signs mentioned that will take place before Jesus’ return, and to see that they sure seem to be materializing and transpiring. This is why our calling, assignment, and response is so important. We can’t play the role of a Christian or “play church.” As these scriptures tell us what is to happen, it is also telling us we need to be in accordance with the Father’s plan, NOW, and that if we aren’t truly in His plan, we will find ourselves left behind. To some it seems like metaphor or a great story. However, it is reality that needs to be heeded. Don’t be lulled into putting off knowing Jesus Christ as Savior and walking in a close relationship with Him in obedience. We all know what insurance is in the world provides confirmation of care and coverage. With Christ, it is “assurance,” that we know who we are, what He did, how we’ve changed, and where we’re going.
PRAYER:
Dear Lord, by virtue of your illustrating through your Word as to what is to come, may I realize that it is a clear calling and warning to get with your plan for life, repentance, salvation, and walking in obedience to your Word and will. I thank you for the assurance of knowing who I am in Christ, what you did on the cross for me, my life’s transformation, and where I’m going when you return or if I return to you first.
