SCRIPTURE:
Then after fourteen years, I went up again to Jerusalem, this time with Barnabas. I took Titus along also. 2 I went in response to a revelation and, meeting privately with those esteemed as leaders, I presented to them the gospel that I preach among the Gentiles.
Galatians 2:1-2
OBSERVATION:
Some scholars believe that Paul went to Arabia in part for solitude and theological assessment.
Paul studied to see the scripture from the lens of Christ.
His time of intentionally slowing down gave him the ability to have God's confidence to face insult, persecution, and even death for his faith. He went slow to go fast. He made sure he knew the truth, because only the truth sets us free.
APPLICATION:
No one cares about the foundation until the house is falling down. As the church we are called the pillar and foundation of the truth. Therefore, I will train for spiritual warfare. I will study the truth so that I might be ready for every good work.
I won’t just memorize the scripture, I will understand what they mean and how they inform how we shall live. As a member of the church I should be creating leaders that will become the foundation that the church is built on. So many of us are tossed by the rain and wind. It’s time to build the foundation. So much of building has to do with the foundation. I will inspect my foundation. I will ensure, like Paul, that it is built on Christ alone. I will examine my life and doctrine closely.
PRAYER:
Lord, would You help me rightly divide the word of truth. Thank You Lord for Your grace. Amen!
