Exhortation

by Richard Waialeale on December 09, 2021

Scripture

"O Timothy! Guard what was committed to your trust, avoiding the profane and idle babblings and contradictions of what is falsely called knowledge— by professing it some have strayed concerning the faith." (1Tim. 6:20)

 Grace be with you. Amen.

Observation

Paul closes with an exhortation for the church leaders.  Paul is saying that to navigate life now and eternally without being embarrassed, study the Scriptures and do what they tell you to do. Without exception, the times of which a leader is ashamed are the times he or she didn’t do what the Word said to do. When that leader had violated the Word, when they attempted to do their own thing, is when they chose to ignore a command or a principle, and their actions always resulted in error and shame.

Application

May the Lord continue to help me walk wisely in these dark and treacherous days. I have learned so much during the Covid19, and pandemic period.  And I have been praying that the Lord give us the heart to continue to study the Word deeply—not academically only, but with a determination to obey it practically.

Now is the time I should be spending more with Jesus and seeking Him how I can be of help for people to draw closer to Christ.  For those that are struggling, how can I serve them more?  For those that don’t know Jesus Christ, how can I point them to Jesus?

Prayer

Father, we are in a difficult season that we really need Christ more than ever before.  This is a season to point people to You Lord.  Thank you for the opportunity to do just that.  I have a few funerals coming up and a few opportunities to point people to Jesus.  My prayer Lord is that I can communicate the Gospel of Jesus to everyone in such a way that I will turn non-Christians, or the unbeliever into converts.  Help me Holy Spirit to turn these people into believing converts, in Jesus' Name I Pray.  Amen.
