"Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows." (James 1:17)
God provides us with everything we need. He is the giver of divine gifts. We cannot manifest divine gifts under our own strength, but only through His power. God is the same, yesterday, today, and forever. He has not changed the method or manner in which He bestows gifts.
Many of us continue searching for the gifts that God has given us. Many times we identify our worldly talents as spiritual gifts. Many times we want to choose our anointing, rather than receive what God has already given to us. It is easy to continue to operate in the talents that we have developed through our own strength. For us to truly operate in the kingdom manner that He has designed for us we must be open to what He has in store for us. We must do this even if it may initially be uncomfortable for us. How do we find our anointing? First, discover where God is allowing you to have victory. Second, find the areas that God is blessing you. Finally, be on the look out for the areas in which you feel the Holy Spirit moving powerfully in your life. Be open to areas of your life where you have not even considered. Don't be too attached to areas that you have been successful in the past due to your talents, but be open to additional gifts that God may bestow on you.
Lord Jesus, search my heart. Let me follow your prompting rather than my own desires. Equip me in the areas that you want me to move. Give me a great desire for your gifts. Help me to seek you earnestly, and cause the acknowledgment of man to fade. In Jesus' name, amen.
