SCRIPTURE:
“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.”
John 15:1-2
OBSERVATION:
Such a succinct scripture that Christ is the divine entity and purpose of the Father who created all things. In terms of pruning and bearing fruit, some interpretations refer to Israel and their disbelief. What speaks to be is that I as a believer in Christ am called to be fruitful in serving Him by sharing the Gospel to others as well as my service to others, thus, bearing fruit of Christ’s will, purpose, and plan.
APPLICATION:
I am blessed by my relationship with Christ and being part of His vine of life. My heart is to fulfill my calling, my placement/position with my gifts and talents to be fruitful and multiply God’s will, purpose, and plan. I know that in these current times in the world, it will be harder because of the world which is failing and falling away from Christ. However, I will need the call to look up and keep my eyes focused on Jesus to be fruitful in a barren world. May the waters of life through God’s Word nourish me.
PRAYER:
Dear Lord, thank you for who you are in me. May I be fruitful in who I am in you to do your will, share my faith, and serve my neighbors. I look forward to continue to be nourished by your Word daily, that my fruit will be healthy and I will weather the things of the world and not wither by the things of the World.
