Aware, Absolute & Able

SCRIPTURE:

“Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong.  Do everything in love.”
1 Corinthians 16:13

OBSERVATION:

Paul reminds and prepares the people for the future, to expect the unforeseen and unexpected; but to be aware, be absolute in what they know and believe in their faith; and to be courageous and steadfast.  Foremost, Paul encouraged the people to know and practice love, which would be the key in all things.

APPLICATION:

As we prepare for Easter, we are reminded and see each year that in anticipation of all the great things that will happen through and for the Lord; that the enemy will try to steal, kill, and destroy.  We’ve already seen situations where the enemy has tried to wreak havoc upon those that will be serving.

Yet it is when we are aware that the enemy will try, and that we are resolute and steadfast in what we believe in Christ and battling the enemy by standing firm in our faith with courage; that we will see victory over the enemy.  It’s often in those times when we are under attack that our flesh, stress, and pain cause us to forget to lead and walk in love, but rather anger and conflict.  It is so profound as to why Paul would say be aware, stay the course, and with love.  It is because loving when one is under stress and attack if so difficult.  But leading with love is how Jesus led, shepherded, and was victorious.  These scriptures are a great reminder to me to be ready and aware in the midst of all the busyness, and remembering to be mindful and firm through His Word.

PRAYER:

Dear Lord, I pray for Your covering and intercession for Easter in preparation and arrangements.  Furthermore, I pray that being aware, absolute, and able to stand firm in Your will, your way, your faithfulness, and promises; will be the rock that I hold onto not only in this important time before Easter, but in my daily walk with You henceforth.
