SCRIPTURE:
“He said: ‘The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation. He is my stronghold, my refuge and my savior—from violent men you save me.’”
2 Samuel 22:2-3
OBSERVATION:
The scriptures attest to the attributes of our God almighty affirming His omnipotence and omnipresence. It is heart[filling and reassuring to be reminded of the solid rock that He is, affirmed when we read His Word and pray in confidence of His foundation in us, that covers us, and is a shield before us especially when we face adversity.
APPLICATION:
In a world that currently seems so chaotic, turbulent, and prone to evil, it is so wonderful to know and be affirmed that our Lord is our solid rock that we can depend on; who can deliver us through our sin and challenges in life where we can take cover and comfort within His embrace and safety, and that the strength of His salvation changes ours lives. As someone who easily takes burdens on my shoulders, often stressing or worrying and trying to make things happen, it is wonderfully assuring that I can turn to my Lord God who can be my formidable fortress of protection, that gives me strength to take refuge in, shielding and protecting me when I call upon Him, and giving me strength to hold on to His promises and persevere.
PRAYER:
Thank you Lord for your reassurance of your attributes of greatness, goodness, provision, and protection. You are truly my rock that I can stand on with confidence and strength.
