SCRIPTURE:
“For when we came into Macedonia, we had no rest, but we were harassed at every turn – conflicts on the outside, fears within. But God, who comforts the downcast, comforted us by the coming of Titus,”
2 Corinthians 7:5-7
OBSERVATION:
Paul was experiencing difficulties in Macedonia, but the encouraging news that Titus brought comforted him. Troubles at every turn, conflicts with those around him and the inward struggle of fears and anxiety surely tested Paul. Yet, even in the challenges on the inside and out, God used Titus to bring him comfort.
APPLICATION:
There was a time in my life where it felt like everything was going wrong. Not only was I struggling with the people around me and the situations I was in, but it felt like the fears that overtook my mind were happening during every waking moment.
I was still going to church, praying and doing my devotions, but it wasn’t until I found a community of believers who understood what I was going through, did I begin to experience true comfort. They would speak life into me, encouraged me and helped me to navigate the tumultuous waters I was in.
God will definitely use the people around us, IF we allow Him to. I need to remember that when the difficulties come, I must get around others who will lead me back to the cross.
PRAYER:
Father Almighty. Forgive me Lord for times when I have tried to do it all alone. Thank You Lord for those You have placed in my life to bring me encouragement and peace. May I not push back and run away when You are working in my life through others, this I pray, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
