Not Enough and Perfect

SCRIPTURE:

David said, “My son Solomon is young and inexperienced, and the house to be built for the Lord should be of great magnificence and fame and splendor in the sight of all the nations. Therefore I will make preparations for it.” So David made extensive preparations before his death.

1 Chronicles 22:5

OBSERVATION:

Solomon was inexperienced. He wasn’t yet the King Solomon that we now know as being the wisest man on earth. No, he had to be developed. He became the man of renown. How? He had a task that was too much for Him and, therefore, perfect for God. The phrase “It’s Impossible” is the perfect condition for God to do a miracle, and He did. The foundation of King Solomon's greatness was his awareness of his lack and need for greater wisdom. Solomon didn’t come preassembled. He was raised to become the man who would build the temple of the Lord and usher in the Golden Age of Israel.

APPLICATION:

Solomon’s internal operating system (IOS) was updated. He acknowledged his lack of experience and sought wisdom. His father also acknowledges this; however, he never denies that he was called to build the Temple. God doesn’t call the equipped, but equips the called. God gets the glory. That is what he did with Solomon. However, Solomon had one thing going for him. He sought out wisdom. Solomon knew that he didn’t have what it took. This made him perfect for the job, because he had to lean on God. Therefore, when I am faced with a task, a problem, or a giant, I will remind myself that it is perfect. It's an opportunity to rely on the Lord, because God doesn't call the equipped, He equips the called.

PRAYER:

Dear Lord, would guide me to learn to have the right mind to update my (IOS) to become and achieve what you have for me to do for your glory. Amen.
