Today's Reading:
Genesis 27, 28; Psalms 4; Luke 11
Scripture
“For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.” (Luke 11:10)
Observation
This scripture is found in the midst of Jesus teaching his disciples to pray. Jesus makes it clear that it is through prayer that those who are intentional to pursue the things of God will realize what they seek. It takes the person seeking, to make the effort of knocking on the door to the things of God as well as the situations one may find oneself in. The treasures of God await. However, we start the process.
Application
In our current times with the pandemic and now the probability of many changes in the landscape of our nation, society, and community; our ability to navigate the things we will encounter will require us to seek the Lord in all things. It is also in the daily situations that we contend with. Intentionality and pursuit in asking and seeking is through my diligence in prayer, devotions, and fellowship with others in Christ. It is through these times that God will reveal Himself to me, and when the door of reply will open through the still small voice of God.
Prayer
Dear Lord, thank you for reminding me of the basics of life in seeking the things of you that I may understand, navigate, and move forward in these chaotic and tumultuous times.
