Blessed People Bless

by Pua Palakiko on May 29, 2021

Scripture

Proverbs 11:25-A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed."

Observation

As Christians, we’re all called to give. Not in such a way that leaves us empty but to give what we can, with what we have. God doesn’t teach us to clench our hands but softens the grip to give either with your time, money, food, a car ride, etc. I don’t think you can ever feel bad for doing something good but most of the time we can feel resentful if we weren’t obedient to what God has asked and called us to do.

Application

I am reminded of this scripture of how blessed I am to be a blessing. Sure sometimes the quantity of my bank account can be scarce but I pray that I don’t ever stop to look creatively at how I can give. I am learning that I don’t operate out of my overflow because I will always lack but I can operate out of the overflow of God cause his supply is unlimited. I remember someone came into the church needing help to buy a part for his car. I could sense in my heart that I didn’t want to be the “go-to” for his needs, but after trying to go through the protocols of the church, the Lord spoke to me, “Pua, you are right there.” I tried to drown out the sound of that voice but after the third time, I got the message. I offered to help him and he was on his way. Later down the week, my car had a popped tire and a friend blessed me with a new tire for free. I was in awe of God's goodness. See Blessed people Bless! I am learning I can stop the traffic of blessing to myself if I decline the opportunity to give.

Prayer

Lord,

I pray that I am reminded daily of how blessed I am to be a blessing. I don’t have all the money in the world but I am learning with you, I have everything I need. Lord, I pray that I never become too prideful or greedy. All that I have is your’s God and I need to be a better steward of what you have given to me.
