Be Ready and Prepared

Today's Reading:
Revelation and 7:9-15

Scripture

After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. And they cried out in a loud voice: “Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.” All the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures. They fell down on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, saying: “Amen! Praise and glory and wisdom and thanks and honor and power and strength be to our God for ever and ever. Amen!” Then one of the elders asked me, “These in white robes—who are they, and where did they come from?” I answered, “Sir, you know.” And he said, “These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. (Revelation 7:9-15)

Observation

The book of Revelation is so exciting, insightful, yet encouragingly concerning. To know that the truth in the Bible reveals what will transpire sometime in the future, where we know that we will be with the Lord in heaven is exciting. For the details to be revealed metaphorically is telling. Yet, the outcome for those who prepare and are ready, in contrast to those who don’t it is encouraging if one heeds the Word, but concerning if one doesn’t. There are those that will go through the tribulation on earth and will need to persevere through the challenging times. If we thought this year of 2020 has been a tough one, the Bible depicts the tribulation of being so much more severe.

Application

I am a pre-tribulation believer that there will be a rapture before the tribulation. Our call if we don’t want to go through the tribulation according to the Bible is to draw close to the Lord now, and continue in a devoted and repentant relationship with the Lord on a daily basis. Thankfully, I believe as a “pre-trib” person that we will be saved from the tribulation. Yet, God in His mercy still allows those that will go through the tribulation to be saved, and that they too as they keep their devotion to the Lord during the tribulation, would be “washed” that they too would stand before the Lord Jesus, the Lamb of God.

Prayer

Dear Lord, THANK YOU for your holy word that gives us warning and insight so that we would be prepared and ready for your rapture. May I daily continue in my devotion and relationship with you.
