Feeling inadequate to answer the call

Richard Waialeale

Exodus 7:1 (NIV)
1 Then the Lord said to Moses, "See, I have made you like God to Pharaoh, and your brother Aaron will be your prophet.
God said to Moses that when he speaks to the Pharaoh, he will appear like a God to Pharaoh. But Moses couldn’t help but still feel inadequate in spite of knowing God was right by his side. When God calls us to serve Him and reveals his assignment to us, it can be exciting yet larger then life. So much so that His call is more then we can comprehend by our own knowledge, power and strength. It doesn’t happen over night, it takes time to develop the understanding and courage, yet it’s still “missio Dei,” God’s Mission. I read further on that Moses with his brother Aaron went out together and by the second plaque (frogs), Moses slowly began answering God’s call and step by step, began talking to Pharaoh. Moses was seeking God for His help so he could answer the call.
We all have this larger then life call from God (mission from God), and even though it appears impossible for a guy like me to accomplish, God knows we can do it if we just stay close to Him. Since it’s God mission for our life, draw closer to Him for His knowledge and His power and His strength. Draw from Him the power to fulfill His call to His people. Whenever I feel inadequate, like Moses, face towards Jesus and draw closer to Him. His strength for me wont happen over night, but I know He will help me fulfill His call in His time.

Lord I pray, I’ll do whatever you want me to do, if that is Your mission for my life. I pray that You make it happen and I give You all the praise, honor and glory. In Jesus Name I pray. Amen.
