Consistent and Faithful Leadership

Rod Shimabukuro

Galatians 4:18 If someone is eager to do good things for you, that’s all right; but let them do it all the time, not just when I’m with you.
When addressing the Christian’s in Galatia, Paul corrects their double minded and heartedness, in the area of receiving teachers differently.
The church opened their doors of teaching and their hearts to leaders who were diluting, even opposing the truth Paul was teaching. The church treated Paul one way and other leaders another way. One reason was because the deceptive ways false teachers would be allowed to flatter with words, leading people further from the truth.
People can tend to treat leaders differently. Sometimes there are selfish motives behind servants giving applause, compliments, encouragement to leaders. Servants sometimes need firm, truthful guidance because they can be blinded while trying to “look good or impress” leaders. Just look at religion, the cults, the way we do politics, shopping networks - we can be gullible. People can be swayed very easily, be great leadership.

For me, I’m hearing the words faithful and consistent. I desire to live differently today by being and staying faithful and consistent in my attitudes, motives, actions as a leader - as a child of God! I hear the words of Paul, “let them do it all the time, not just when...” Not just when Pastor Wayne or Billy Graham is around. I want to be true to the Lord in motive, thought, character and lifestyle!
Dear Father: Oh - how I need Your reminders, to be consistent and faithful - from the inside out! Thank You for speaking words of correction and life to my inmost conviction and heart! I want to be more like You - from the inside out!
