Grandparents R Us

2Timothy 3:15 and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings,
which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.
16 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof,
for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17 that the man of God[b]
may be complete, equipped for every good work.

Timothy's mom and grandmother were both influential in raising Timothy, in teaching him about God. They exampled the Word by how they lived. We are given that same opportunity as we raise our children and grandchildren to follow the Ways of The Lord as it is written in the scriptures.

Spending time with my grandchildren is one of my favorite things to do. Recently, two of my grandchildren, started asking more questions about Jesus. To my surprise instead of "Transformers"and "Rio 2", they wanted to watch, "Heaven is for Real". I realized that our family meetings with our children had sparked the interest in The Lord, in our grandchildren, as they listened in. I see the value in bringing my grandchildren up in the ways of The Lord, as our culture changes, and things become more perverse. I know that by teaching them, they have a chance to make a difference in this world and to live life differently. Listening to them, allows them to feel validated and important in a world that places significance on superficial values. Allowing them to know that Christ chose a child to demonstrate greatness and they are a blessing from Him. I must steward this blessing by stopping what I am doing to read a story, or to make jello, or even to look at something that I saw 3 times before.

Lord, thank you for allowing the use of the scriptures to speak so clearly on how to impact the lives of my grandchildren. Help me to be a good example of Your Word, and to teach them well. Help them to learn the values, to a life prepared, to do the good works. I want to always remember the gift of being their mama, thank you for these precious gifts.
