Living urgent and fervent

Rod Shimabukuro

Romans 9:1 I speak the truth in Christ—I am not lying, my conscience confirms it in the Holy Spirit— 2 I have great sorrow and unceasing anguish in my heart.
Paul, speaking of the love of God - that His covenant is sure and nothing can stand in the way or hinder His love for His people. Yet Paul is grieved that God’s chosen one’s are the very people who have rejected Him.

Paul recognizes deep within his soul, that his conscience by the Spirit, confirms that his sorrow is real, in Christ. The sorrow of Jesus filled Paul’s heart and soul. It is this kind of burden that urges us as Christians to live out Jesus’ life in ways that reach non Christians!
There’s an inner conscience that I want to pay attention to. It’s the voice of God, I can speak in confidence and truth when confirmed by the Spirit.

When my heart is grieved by what grieves God - when my soul is sorrowful because the Spirit of God reveals the Father’s pain - I can believe that God will use me to speak and live His truth. There’s a burden I long to have and live under. I desire to live with and under this burden - to feel the anguish of God, so that I would love as He loves!

Today - I want to feel His pain and sorrow for people, that I might live with an urgent and fervent love for Jesus and people!
Dear Lord, Fill me with Your desires for people who need you - both Christian and non Christians! May the sorrow of Your heart, fill mine - to change me, to bring Your life changing message of the world!
