2 Chronicles 7:14 (NIV)
14 “...if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

Where does my life fit into the great story of God’s mission for God’s people in God’s creation? In this scripture, God answers Solomon and let’s him know that if the people should sin, there will be consequences and trouble. A man reaps what he sows. If he strays from God and sins, it’s evident that they will suffer some kind of difficulty. The principle here for me today is not so much the suffering of a plaque or famine, but the suffering of trouble, problems or difficulty. God gives us a way back to Him when we sin.

It’s not rocket science or something difficult where I need to sacrifice thousands of goats or cows. It’s simply humbling myself and find it deep in my soul to stand before Him and repent. Jesus did it all for me, so I must do whatever it takes to get closer to Jesus. The scripture says that as I am called by Him, if should I go side ways for whatever reason, humble myself, and with all my heart say, “Lord, I am so sorry, forgive me.”

Father may your word settle in my heart and build a foundation of trusting You, and all I do is what I have been called too - In Jesus Name I Pray. Amen.
