Conditions for Restoration

Rod Shimabukuro

"They will return to it and remove all its vile images and detestable idols. I will give them an undivided heart and put a new spirit in them; I will remove from them their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh. Then they will follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. They will be my people, and I will be their God. But as for those whose hearts are devoted to their vile images and detestable idols, I will bring down on their own heads what they have done, declares the Sovereign LORD." (Ezekiel 11:18-21)
The visions and descriptions of judgment that God spoke to Ezekiel were pretty detailed and graphic. The power and presence of the Sovereign Lords heart was primarily to redeem and restore His children. Judgment does reveal God's character to be true, faithful and just. He is willing to allow people to choose obedience or disobedient living.

Ah-h-h-h-h ...! The part of the vision we look toward is our Father's heart to restore relationship with His children. There are conditions that we must all know, understand and adhere to in heart and life.
Today, in order for me to live differently, I must hear and heed several conditions.

Condition number one:
I must remove anything in my heart, mind and life that is "vile" to God, that will adversely affect my love and living for Him.

Images of sin, worldliness, my past - must be taken captive. My thought life can be a breeding ground for destructive imaginations. I must take control, take captive every thought and bring them into captivity under Christ!

Condition number two:
I must follow His instructions (His laws, rules, Word!) ... every single Word of the Lord. I must not compromise BEING CAREFUL to obey His Word. Careful and cautious in being strictly sensitive to His Spirit - as I meditate on His Word. In order to do this - I must mediate on His WOrd, not rush to read through "my devotions-bookmark!"
Dear Jesus,

Please forgive me for rushing through Your Word. Help me not to compromise in these "little ways."I do not want little compromises to turn into drastic judgment because I drift or wander from Your truth. Thanks for helping me to take "vile images and imaginations" captive! I love being emptied of myself, so I can live full of Your Spirit!
