Who Is Worthy?

Richard Waialeale

"And I saw a mighty angel proclaiming in a loud voice, "Who is worthy to break the seals and open the scroll?" But no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth could open the scroll or even look inside it. I wept and wept because no one was found who was worthy to open the scroll or look inside." (Revelation 5:2-4)
From the word scroll comes the word Bible. The Lion and the Lamb refers to Christ, with the Lamb being His first coming and His death, and the Lion pointing to His second coming and judgment of this world. Only Jesus is worthy to open the scroll, which reveals the truth. Whenever I open the Bible and speak from the Word of God, I need to be sure I speak only what is written and communicate without adding or subtracting, watering down or puffing myself up from what is being said. In everything I do whether it involves stories, illustrations, analogies or examples, that I seal my message by pointing people to the one who is worthy, and that is Jesus Christ.
God has given me an opportunity to speak this weekend to people that have never heard me talk about Jesus before. At the end of this weekend, I will ask myself, did I point them in the direction of Jesus Christ? And did I say what Jesus wanted me to say? He allows me to read from the Bible, I may not be worthy and I humble myself, but I will represent Him the best I way I can.
Lord I am humbled and thank you that You are with me. I pray Lord that I say all that You want me to say and be Jesus that people will see only Jesus. Amen.
