Use Me... More and More

Rod Shimabukuro

"Philip went down to a city in Samaria and proclaimed the Christ there. When the crowds heard Philip and saw the miraculous signs he did, they all paid close attention to what he said. With shrieks, evil spirits came out of many, and many paralytics and cripples were healed. So there was great joy in that city." (Acts 8:5-8)
Persecution towards the Christians broke out following the stoning of Stephen. Followers of Jesus were being taken from their homes, thrown in prison, beaten. Saul's intent...destroy the church. But there were those like Philip, who wouldn't cave in to the surroundings of trouble and the possibilities of death. Christians were scattered - yet they preached the Word everywhere.

You can take the Christian out of their ‘church" (home or building), but you can't take the church out of their hearts! The church is known to be who we are as carriers of Jesus, filled with His Spirit.
Beneath the surface of my heart is a longing to be used as a servant of Jesus to perform miracles. But my question today, is would I be willing to count the cost and pay the price - whatever that means? I don't know what that would mean but I'm willing to be used. If it meant persecution, sleepless nights, the pressures that would come with being used in such a way, the prayer life, fasting, study and being a man of the Word, the pride or self centeredness that I would deal with being "mightily used of God" --- etc????

But my greater desire is for God to show His power and presence through His people. Use anyone Lord - to perform miracles so there would be transformed lives and great joy in our city, as in Phillips day.

I'm so-o-o-o-o--o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o Grateful today:
  1. That God is using His people at New Hope and His CHURCH island wide, to present the gospel, unashamedly to non Christians.
  2. That God is using people to perform miracles to bring joy to hearts and change lives.
  3. That many received the Lord this past weekend at our services. Their lives are changed, no longer destined for hell, but are filled with God's presence from this day forward!
  4. That God is using troubled situations and lives, to spread his love --- through those who are willing to Give up and Give all for Jesus!
  5. That God is using me...more and more...
I'm on fire God - filled with Your burning presence that brings MY works, carnality to ashes, refining what will truly last - your thoughts and ways through my life. May I burn brightly for You by being a bold witness, proclaiming Your love wherever I go!
May Your fire continue to convict me of any ungodly thoughts, attitudes, motives and ways - so your light may shine well through me. Use me...more and more!
