Know God and No Turning Back

Rod Shimabukuro

But now that you have come to know God, or rather to be known by God, how can you turn back again to the weak and worthless elementary principles of the world, whose slaves you want to be once more? (Galatians 4:9)
Here I go again, thinking about being foolish, when I'm tempted to live as though I'm not a Christian. The battle to turn back is so real for many Christians. It was in Paul's day as we see so clearly in the lives of the Galatian disciples.

We all need reminders that the old, worldly, Christ-less ways of life were weak and worthless! Living and knowing what freedom means, feels in life now with Jesus, helps me to realize that I was enslaved to living for MY worldly self.
I disciple, encourage, challenge, correct, teach and coach people to embrace Jesus and forsake their dangerous lifestyle. It's the former way of life: attitudes, thinking, friends that lead us to forfeit truthful, holy living.

I'm prompted to look within my own heart, thoughts and attitudes, to see if there are desires to turn back to worthless, worldly ways. Why would I want to return to being enslaved by addictive-worldly ways and attitudes? But the real temptations are present and alive. I commit to growing in Knowing God - and having a "No turning back attitude!"
To Know You, is to not entertain the thought of turning back to be enslaved by certain worldly attitudes in my heart! No turning back is my stand. Knowing God is my deepest desire!!
