When Peter saw him, he said to Jesus, “Lord, what about this man?” Jesus said to him, “If it is my will that he remain until I come, what is that to you? You follow me!” John 21:21-22
What? Seriously? Really? Peter is curious about John’s life. Having been restored by Jesus, Peter was called to be a shepherd of HIs flock - Feed my sheep. A new meaning to following Jesus - a deeper, more distinguished commitment was defined…even to the point of Jesus referring to the future of Peter’s call to martyrdom!

Too often, I’m concerned about others - their call, role, responsibility to Jesus. Having too much concern of others, can dim the light on what my focus should be.
The Lord is reminding me - to follow Jesus. No matter what others are doing, saying, how they may be responding to me or not. In the circumstances of my transition in life - as a father, pastor, I am called to FOLLOW JESUS.

This means I cannot be distracted by others. By other people’s grumblings, their likes and dislikes of me, my leadership style, the churches shortcomings.

I’m reminded of Pastor Dom’s message recently. I cannot be “Rubbernecking” by focusing on others opinions, lives, decisions - I must Follow Jesus and be obedient to what He is saying to me.
Dear Holy Spirit! I love You! Thank you for guiding me into freedom - into truth! Your truth is setting me free - from the dim and grim decisions I make to compare my selves to others. Or even to listen to the negativity of others. I have faults, the church is imperfect, spiritual leaders fall short - But we must ALL Follow Jesus - Whole Heartedly! That’s my heart Lord!
