What does True Humility look like?

Rod Shimabukuro

Titus 3:1 Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good, 2 to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and to show true humility toward all men.
Paul’s charge to Titus was not an easy one to fulfill. When your authorities oppose the very core and essence of who you are and what you believe, submission and being ready to do good is not normally our first inclination. Then the list of specific instructions on what being submissive looks like --- No slander, being a peaceable and considerate person, showing TRUE HUMILITY to ALL MEN! Lord - I need YOU!
There’s no doubt... I need some inner character to refurbishing to be done. My call to action by the Spirit of God is to be a husband and father who displays true humility. I can be so sharp and cutting with my words. Why do I like degrading others (in the secrecy of my heart!)? My identity is In Christ but my insecurities surface so quickly at times.

To be peaceable and considerate needs to be heard through my tones, words at home. I seem to save the worse of myself for the VERY ONES that are my own! To live differently will be to carve out space/time to nurture my family.
Dear Father God. You are almighty so I need Your almighty grace and strength to live out this devotional. Thank you again, for Your forgiveness and I pray that you would reveal Your heart to my family - that they would each experience Your generous love and truth... to know You - to live for you! May we be a family that treats each other with True Humility!
