God of love and justice

Rod Shimabukuro

The rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands nor give up worshiping demons and idols of gold and silver and bronze and stone and wood, which cannot see or hear or walk, [21]nor did they repent of their murders or their sorceries or their sexual immorality or their thefts. Revelation 9:20-21
God’s judgement is not only viewed as acts of His justice but a call for people to repentance. The most harsh infliction of plagues does not turn the hearts of the idolaters. We are all prone to the sickness of hardening our hearts to the detriment of our souls. While 1/3 of mankind were destroyed, the rest did not repent even after experiencing the fierceness of the God sent plagues.
I’m personally reminded that I can easily harden my heart, lacking repentance unto Jesus if I give myself to evil thoughts. The idolatry of my self-centeredness seems ever before me, lingering in my heart.

God helps me to overcome my sins through the living conviction of the Holy Spirit in me. He is in me - I sense Him, feel Him, experience Him... through the desires I have to be a man of God. It’s when I give myself, daily, throughout the day, submitting thoughts, motives, desires to Him. I’m so thankful for the grace and purifying work of God in my life.
Dear Jesus...I am sooooooooo grateful for the presence of Your Spirit in me, living and working in me. I yield my thought life, motives, secret ambitions - everything in and about me - to You! Thank you for being a God of love and justice!
