PASTORS' DAILY DEVOTIONAL
Hungry for God's GloryMarcus Sanders
1Chr 5:13,14 then the house of the Lord was filled with a cloud, so that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud for the glory of the Lord filled the house of God.
The temporary tabernacle is not longer needed. The traveling days of Israel is over. God had provided them a rest from all their labors. This is the permanent place where God will be in the midst of His people. With all the work complete the priests bring all the furniture into this place, the last piece being the ark of covenant. Then the singers, trumpeters unify in one voice saying He indeed is good for His loving-kindness is everlasting. At this moment of worship God inhabits their praises and comes among them. Everyone is in awe. No one can move a muscle because the glory of God is great.
There's something about freshness in ministry. When we keep our ministry fresh with worship, praise, devotion, and prayer, we will find the glory of the Lord filling His place among us. I need His presence in every work accomplished; I need the glory of God to come within my life and ministry. Without it I'm cooked. My strength is limited and will end in defeat. But His strength will carry me to the end. Where the glory of the Lord is there is healing for the hurting, where the glory of the Lord is forgiveness for the sinner, where the glory of the Lord is there are mighty acts and miracles for the people of God. Where the glory of the Lord is there the gifts of the Holy Spirit where the people of God can walk in such a way that pleases the Father. I want my life and ministry to be fresh with the glory of God
Father I come before you with a fresh commitment of devotion to be a hungrier man that thirsts for your presence to consume my life daily. In Your hand is fullness of joy and all my fears suddenly wiped away. All of my gains now fade away and every crown no longer on display In Your Presence, I am are undone; all things are new. in Your Presence, I bow before You
